Lei Cheng Uk Han Tomb Museum
The Tomb was accidentally discovered in 1955 when the Government was leveling a hill slope for construction at Lei Cheng Uk Village for public housing. After further excavation by students and department head of Chinese Department of the University of Hong Kong, the site was taken over by the Government and opened for public viewing. It was declared Monument in 1988.
The brick tomb consists of 4 chambers laid out in form of a cross. Inscription “Panyu” was found on the bricks along with more than ten different patterns. Similar brick tombs were common in Guangdong province from Eastern Han dynasty. Judging from the relics, Archaeologist dated the tomb to be built around 25-220 A.D, possibly for royalties. The pottery and bronze ware found among the 58 relics reflect daily lives of people at the time, and confirmed that Hong Kong was under Panyu province during the Han Dynasty.

Take the MTR to Cheung Sha Wan Station, a 10 minutes walk along Tonkin Street from the A3 Exit

Take the Kowloon Motor Bus No. 2A (from Lok Wah to Mei Foo) and get off at the entrance of the Museum

Take the Kowloon Motor Bus No.2 (from Star Ferry to So Uk) or Tunnel Bus No. 112 (from North Point (Pak Fu Road) to So Uk) and get off at Po On Road, then walk 2 minutes along Tonkin Street.
