1881 (Former Marine Police Headquarters)
The former Marine Police Headquarters was a Victorian-style structure built in 1884. It is one of the oldest government buildings standing today. It was used as the Japanese navy base during the Japanese occupation. It is revitalized as a shopping mall with a cultural tourism theme. Presently named “1881”, this luxurious and elegant building now houses flagship stores of international brands, jewelry, watches and fashion stores. When exhausted, there are fancy restaurants and trendy bars for you to savour a good meal while overlooking the view of Victoria Harbour. You can also visit the exhibition hall inside the mall to know more about the history and development of “1881.”
