Cake

1 package yellow cake mix
1 package vanilla pudding dessert
4 eggs
1/2 cup (110 ml) rum
1/2 cup (110 ml) corn oil
1/2 cup (110 ml) water
 
Methods:
  1. Grease and flour pan.
  1. Set oven at 325˚ F or 160˚ C
  1. Mix cake ingredients (cake mix and pudding dessert). Add eggs, rum, oil and water.
  1. Add batter into pan and bake for 30 to 40 minutes or until done.
 
Glaze

1/4 lb butter (125 gram or 1/2 bar)
1/4 cup (60 ml) water
1/2 cup (110 ml) rum
1/4 cup (50 g) sugar
 
Methods:
  1. Melt butter in small saucepan, stir in water and sugar and simmer for 5 minutes.
  1. Remove saucepan from heat and stir in rum.

  • When cake is done and while it is still hot in pan, make little holes in the cake with chopsticks. Drizzle the glaze into the holes and over the cake. Allow it to soak.
  • When cake is cooled, turn it over onto a plate. Serve with ice cream and walnut bits.
