Introduction: Winter melons have abundant water content and can replenish water in our body. It induces urine and helps to prevent edema. Winter melons are slightly 'cold' – in Chinese medicine parlance – they remove heat and toxicity, induce urine and reduce 'wetness'. It makes one less irritated and quenches thirst.
Note: Winter melons should be placed in a cool and dry place. It can be stored for a long time. However, its flesh will shrivel when stored for too long.
Purchase: You should choose winter melons which are heavy, meaty and have an evenly white-spotted outer skin.
